TiOX™ Shield hygienic coating.
We all strive for effective and lasting solutions in defence against viruses. MSM Medical offers a special service that provides a durable and environmentally friendly solution for the long-term disinfection of public spaces, factories, means of transport and other frequented areas.
Titanium dioxide is widely used in places where sterilization requirements are high, such as means of public transport, hospitals, food factories, hotels, spa departments, livestock holdings, institutions, schools, etc…
It can be used in all areas where a sustainable, continuously safe as well as an infection, virus and bacteria free environment is a key issue.
The titanium dioxide (TiO2) coating in TiOX™ Shield forms an antimicrobial layer on any surface, thus making it resistant to various viruses and bacteria. The TiO2 nanoparticles form an invisible, thin layer on the surface, and after application and drying, the TiO2 coating is considered a solid colloidal dispersion system. Based on its mechanism of action, by absorbed light, it forms reactive radicals which react with the organic matter on its surface and convert them into substances that are easier to remove and release.
The disinfecting effect of titanium dioxide-based products normally only occurs under strong ambient light or ultraviolet irradiation. Thanks to the special components of TiOX ™ Shield, our product works well even in low light conditions, and after normal operation it can continue to decompose organic matter even in complete darkness for hours or even days, depending on the surface contamination.
TiO2 also exerts its effect in the case of continuous exposure, as opposed to conventional disinfectants. While they exterminate the microbial layer formed in the meantime with a single, coarse effect, TiOX™ Shield creates a continuous, low-intensity, so-called “unpleasant” environment for them, thus inhibiting their growth. In ordinary language, organisms do not like a medium enriched with titanium dioxide nanoparticles. As a result of the continuous, low-intensity effect, the surface coated with titanium dioxide is in a microbially continuous self-cleaning state and, in addition, it helps to break down the general “dirt” too.
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a harmless substance used every day. It can be found in chewing gum, white paints, surface coatings in the paper industry, fillers in the rubber and plastics industries. It can be said without exaggeration that it is part of our everyday life, it surrounds us, even if we do not know about it.
Due to the development of chemical synthesis methods, over time, it has also become possible to produce TiO2 nanoparticles with a smaller diameter, with which at the same time their antimicrobial effect was revealed.
It neutralizes viruses (effective against 650 other types of viruses, such as SARS, H5N1, or the new SARS-CoV-2), bacteria, molds and other fungi with an efficiency of up to 99.9%, and it can also radically reduce the amount of VOC (volatile organic compounds) in the ambient air!
Thanks to the innovative technology, the titanium dioxide coating provides long-term protection.
